I LOVE my Tundra but, right at 5 years it developed an oil leak. After brief research this is a EXTREMELY common occurrence with ALL 5.7L Tundras. The cam tower plate at the cylinder head has a silicone only seal and leaks oil onto exhaust manifold. Toyota WON'T cover the repairs past 5yr. It's a $5000 repair. Google 5.7L Tundra cam tower leak. It's an epidemic. Its obviously a manufacturing defect. VERY disappointed in Toyota!

I have owned 5 tundras. I had the basic Sr5 Crewmax, upgrade to a rock warrior, to a xpsx, to a platinum and my latest a 2020 TRDPRO, I have never had an issue with any of these trucks. The rock warrior hauled a 32’ Fifth Wheel from Maine to Sc and most areas in between and it handled it with ease. My TRDPRO is a awesome truck. I did remove the 18” wheels and added 20” wheels and tires. I feel it looks more like a massive truck. Only con and I knew going in is the gas mileage. It says 13-17 with 15 being the average. I have never seen better than 13.5 highway or city. Good think I like it had a large tank for less stops.

Looked at all the competition and when you factor in premium fuel requirements and multiple recalls of domestic brands, the quality, and long-term reliability of the Tundra was my best choice along with being less expensive than comparable trim levels.
